I always fed my Sassy puppy food after she whelped. It is higher in
calories. Pumpkin, pure pumpkin works for constipation, but also firms up
loose stools. I give it my dogs when their bowel movements seem off in
either direction J --em

Subject: [Chihuahuas] Today's Questions From Mare

Still needing help guys so here goes.
Ok I have Rainee my Cairn who whelped 2 weeks ago in a secluded pen.
Ok she gave birth to 6 pretty little puppies.
One escaped last night and I had to go put him back in the pen. I know how
to fix that..........chicken wire.
But the questions?
Rainee is thin as a rail from nursing
These character's so much.
I am afraid for her health. What can I feed her to put weight back on
rapidly?
I had been feeding Diamond Naturals to her. Yesterday I bought some cheap
dog food Strongheart Chicken....now she has diarrhea!
So I know I can give immodium right? But what about when nursing?
Then I have a question about the puppies............. they look really good
all fat but.........................
Their do house is one of those big plastic ones. Ok She won't leave the
light blanket I put in there flat....rumples it up.
They all have raw looking bellies. What to put on there cause you know she
is going to lick it off and then it will go through her milk.
Thought of getting a pool.............but what if it rains?
So thanks for all your help. Waiting till I hear back from someone then I'll
go buy whatever we need from town. Feeding her chicken but need to firm up
these loose stolls.
