I personally currently have one am waiting till it is 10 weeks before I let it
go and it is going to an experienced Chihuahua person. It isn't the person, it
is the need to be with the momma. My bigger ones I usually let go about 9
weeks. If this little one was going anywhere else, I would probably wait
another week or two.

the longer the pups are with the mother, they are be taught socialization
skills amoung other things by her. you want to make sure that they are utd on
wormings, and at 8 weeks need their first all in one shot. NOOO LEPTO !!!!
personally I would do what works best for you in this situation. I usually do
not let my toy breeds go until 10-12 weeks but that is me personally.

What is your suggestion...the breeder says puppies are ready in one
week which would make them just past 8 weeks or I could wait the
following week when they are 9 weeks. I'm a teacher so in two weeks
I'll be done with the school year. What would be the
    advantages/disadvantages?
