I personally currently have one am waiting till it is 10 weeks before I let it go and it is going to an experienced Chihuahua person. It isn't the person, it is the need to be with the momma. My bigger ones I usually let go about 9 weeks. If this little one was going anywhere else, I would probably wait another week or two. Marsha
