What is fear bitter Is she not nice?
A fear biter is not a mean dog just one that lashes out in fear.
A few monthes ago my neighbors asked me to take care of their 3 dogs while
they took a long weekend away. I was comfortable with their 2 Goldens and had
no problem. They knew me and are extremely friendly. Their chihuahua was
another story. She is 2 lbs of tough cookie. Day one she wanted to rip my hand
off. Day 2 I persisted in sitting in front of her , offering treats and talking
calmly to her. I sat for an hour and then approached her and picked her up
while she snapped at me. Once I had her in my arms - I continued to talk calm ,
pet her , and let her know I was no harm to her. By day 3 she was greeting me
with wagging tail. Fear biters are not mean...just frightened. I wouldn't for a
minute do what I did with a large dog. I know chihuahua's , so I felt
comfortable even with a so called biter.
