My two chis also have this "Reverse sneezing syndrome" every day. All I do is when this happens, I pick them up and calm them down and get them to lick my hand and as soon as they start to lick my hand, it stops. My vet said that licking seems to get them to stop but they need to be calm first.

Anyway, he said nothing to worry about because it is not happening often....I was HAPPY to hear that!!!....Then he procedes to give her the Kennal Cough stuff in her nose and cautions me that this will trigger a Reverse Sneezing episode in his office, and it did. Well, since her vet visit Friday she has had reverse sneezing every day-sometimes 2 and 3 times a day(hmmm)... .The vet did tell me if she ever got worse that I could give her 2mg. chlorpheniramine (antihistimine) ....He also said I could buy it over the counter....I guess I was not expecting her to get worse so quick!!! Poor thing - I hate to see her have the sneezing thing-she looks so weak....I also did not want to have to give her meds.
