I agree with you Amanda. I have stopped vaccinating after a year old as well.
Lepto - I refuse to give to my dogs. Thank goodness it is not even offered in NY

I have never given Lepto at all to any of my dogs. I attended a conference
at UF vet school and they recommended not giving Lepto to ANY dog. They
said the Lepto in the vaccine is a strain rarely seen and there is almost no
risk to a pet dog living in a home and the reaction rate is very high. I
don't understand why a vet would give a shot that is of almost no help
knowing the dog has had a reaction in the past! I would find a new vet
ASAP! I have actually stopped giving shots altogether after 1 year of age.
Dr. Dodd has does studies showing after the 1 year vaccine, there is a
lifetime immunity. The only thing I get is the 3 year Rabies as required by
law, but they don't really need it. Vaccines have been highly suspected of
  causing auto-immune disease and cancer.

I would just like to clarify.... My 4lb Bridgette was given this shot a 5-6
moths ago, she was 3 years old..... I always give her benedryl before we go
to the vet for shots because she does have reactions to her shots. . The vet
did warn me that this shot has the highest rate of reaction and to watch her
(after they gave her this shot) also to give her more benedryl a few hours
after we left... they did keep us there for an extra 40 minutes or so
because they know how temperamental her little body is, What I am trying to
figure out is this: Are toy dogs not supposed to have this shot at all or
are the vets supposed to wait until the pup is a certain size or age?

puppy baby benedryl prior to immunizations, and any vet that's in their
right mond would NEVER have given a toy size puppy a lepto shot . No toy
breeeds should ever get the lepto prior to being 1 year of age.. Never
