I am amazed myself, as I mentioned this is my first time with little dogs. I
thought for sure 4 pups. But she just got bigger and bigger. She is not a
small chi, her normal weight is 5 -6 lbs. She is just really thin boned so I
worried, all for not. The dad is the same stature (same height and length) but
a lot more muscular. Here is all the pups cuddled up except for the little one
left out, she gets special feeding She is not shunned or left out, there just
isn't room for her. We haven't really named then but I can tell the little one
is named Seven and she will have special place. Any advice is welcome.

  Patricia

They are all adorable. I can't get over 7 of them. I have friends who have
had large litters like this, but it certainly isn't the norm, lol. I average 3
per litter, lol How big is Trinity?

Here is a link to the first pic that we took.

I never imagined there were 7 in there. Trinity is dainty but not a small
chi, she her normal weight is about 7 pounds. What amazed me was the ease she
delivered ( after no. 1) and cared for them, no crying, panting, anything. She
is now eating and drinking well, and I am really glad that her eating in not an
issue with so many mouths to feed. I am back to Marsha's recommended website
for more info and appreciate any tips from this group.

There is one other thing, because of the large amount of pups, I plan to
weigh each one to make sure that one or two isn't getting muscled out of the
milk. But the 5 fawns look a lot alike (at least to me after 12 hours and not
much sleep). We are still checking sex, will I know who is who soon or how can
I tell them apart? Thanks all.

    Hi Patricia,

Wholly cow - 7 pups from a chi. Is that the usual amount of pups in a
litter? They just seem too little to have 7 pups. Congratulations!!!! Can't
wait to see pictures of the Mom & pups.
