I have to get back up there, its been since the mid 80s. I worked at Bancroft, a school for children and adults with disabilities. They owned a couple of hundred acres in Owl's Head, right on the Penobscot Bay. The school was traditionally for wealthy families and they didn't like the heat of the Jersey summers (neither do I!) The residential program would relocate for 2 1/2 months every year up to Maine and we staff lived right there. It was some of the best times of my life. The powers to be at the school recently saw fit to sell off the property for some insane reason. It had been in place for a hundred years. I think the development there is called Bancroft Cove or something along those lines. Makes me sad to think that gorgeous natural beauty now probably houses McMansions :[.
