Maybe she is just insecure and the problem will solve itself with time. Has a
vet looked at her teeth? She may have some pain if she has bad teeth.

Just adopted a female beige long coat chihuahua about 4 years from a
breeder. Apparently, she was traded in for a younger puppy a year ago,
and since then was kept in a small cage.
Right now she sleeps in an small baby fenced up area in my bedroom. O
realise that she is extremely possessive of her doggy carrier when she
is inside. She will growl and bite when anyone reach in. I gave her a
small soft toy and she immediately claimed it, and when I touched it,
she growl and then bite me. I have since removed the toy.
She is an angel when she is out of her carrier and with no toys to be
possessive over. Will turn over for tummy rubs. How can I solve her
possessive aggression. Her teeths are in horrible shape so when she
bites...it is not painful at all... poor girl, I really feel so bad
for her past history. I paid $200 to get her off the breeder. Rather
give her a future then buy a new puppy.... I live in Singapore.
Any advice is greatly appreciated
