When Bessie isn't eating enough - she's my little 2.8 pounder and she's just not that interested in "dog food" - she'll eat kibble, and eats the Royal Canin Chihuahua 28 well ... just sometimes she'll lose a little of what fat she normally has over her hips (she only HAS fat on her hips covering the bones a little - not much, and some on her head near her ears as far as I can tell - otherwise there isn't any you can feel). Anyway, when she gets a little pointy there - I'll start giving her puppy canned food twice a day in addition to free feeding the kibble (Nutro is one of the few puppy canned there is, Innova is another - but Bessie won't eat any canned food with chunks - she's a picky girl). I've actually only had to do it one time, and it was recently ... I think because I had switched back to Solid Gold, and she didn't like it (they used to eat it before the RC) ... I actually threw out a lot of a bag and went back to the Royal Canin because I was worried she wasn't eating it as well. I'm keeping the canned puppy food on hand in case I need it again. It only took a few days to get her back to normal, but she wasn't far off. I figured if that's what you do for preggo or nursing dogs to up their calories, it would work for Bessie too. Shell

Just wonder... what is the best way to help this little guy to put on some weight? He is really really skinny. He is eating the food we feed the rest of our little guys. Nutro Ultra Holistic dog food. Venus
