I agree with the other post, it sounds like she might have a medical concern.
has she been spayed? if shes intact maybe she's coming into heat. she sounds
like my chi's when theyre in heat, but if she's spayed, that kinda blows my
theory outta the water, lol. i'm not a vet, but cracking and popping sounds
dont sound very good. when i was growing up we had a little dog (supposedly a
full blooded shamu, but i still havent figured out what the heck a shamu is!
lol) anyway, he had a personality change and after having xrays, we found out
that he had a deformed hip. it was missing half of one side, and didnt have a
socket. he was put on some meds and turned back into the dog he was. you
might look into professional help for your little one, it couldnt hurt.

I was wondering if someone could give me a little insight into my
Chihuahua's personality. I don't know if she's naturally evolved
because of her age or if something else is going on?!?
First of all she does have Luxating Patella in her one back knee.
She has been having some cracking/popping noises in her left front
shoulder too. And she will yelp if she jumps off the sofa, instead
of using her sofa steps.
She's a little over a year old, in good health otherwise and a tad
fussy on her food at times.
But she just doesn't seem to be herself lately. She's not
as "cuddly" and she doesn't seem to follow me around as much. I
guess you could say she's behaving more independently. (I feel
unwanted)
She's not as rambunctious as she was even just a couple weeks ago or
so. She will play with you if you initiate playtime, she still likes
to chase the kitties and will spend time in my lap when we're out
visiting. She's definitely become much more "bossy" with other dogs
too!
It's funny because one of the Chihuahua's she normally plays with is
about a year older and has turned into the biggest Mama's Boy/Suck
you've ever seen.
Are females just more independent? Has she left her youth, so to
speak, and has now entered her rebellious teen years?
Any ideas??
