Yes, the same father can throw different types...it all depends on what is in his background. Just like when you see a family that has a short kid and a tall kid. Also, don't forget the momma throws her genes in there too, so there is the possibility of one off spring taking momma's "looks" and the other looking like daddy....and if the mommas are different, you got a whole pool of different genes to chose from...... Do not tell God how big your storm is. Last year I bought a chi pup from a home-breeder. Sire and bitch in the home. No papers, I didn't care about papers. I just wanted a chi as a pet to love. She's grown into a beautiful apple-headed chi with gorgeous markings. Her mother was all white and her father was all tan. Pebbles is white with caramel spots. A few months ago I bought my second chi pup from the same breeder. He said this pup has the same father as my other chi, but a different mother. This mother was white with black spots. Daisy is now 4 months old. Her body looks just like her mother, only she has a full tri- color masked face. She is gorgeous and sweet. Last night I was looking at both chis and noticed that Pebbles is an apple-head and Daisy is a deer-head. Their bodies are even different in shape. Pebbles is shorter and more 'stocky', while Daisy has a longer, thinner torso and longer legs. Pebbles is 15 months old, Daisy is 4 months old, and Daisy is already as tall as Pebbles, but her body is more petite. I don't remember the specifics of what their mothers looked like, other than their markings. My question: Can the same father sire both apple-head and deer-head pups with different mothers? Lucy
