I would leave the dew claws alone. I once had an adult dog have them removed. He was in so much pain and wouldn't even walk for quite awhile after the surgery. I can't stand them and remove them from all my puppies at 2-3 days, but I would never have them removed on an adult dog again. The poor dog was just miserable.
