Maybe it is because I have been around dogs all ym life and feel more
comfortable there than anywhere else?
Yes when they have had surgery like your baby has and they require your
whole attention all the time it can be very exhausting. Now I don't mean
anything by this next comment.
But the slight trouble your baby is having from the dew claw removal is
exactly why I go them when they are one day old.
It is must less traumatic to do it early on as to wait till they have some
size to them.
Thanks goodness the poor baby got that 'stinking' collar off. I know he
feels better as well as you.

Wow, how do you keep up with so many dogs, so many different kinds and sizes
so many babies? I am running ragged with one small litte chihuahua. Had
him neutered, he did real well, also had his dews claws removed. Poor
little thing had to wear that plastic collar and so I had to hand feed him,
till he got used to it. Then, yesterday, I took him to have stitches
removed, they removed all but the ones on his hind legs, not ready to be
removed, so I have to go back on Friday. I swear he gave a sigh of relief
when the collar was removed.
