So sorry to hear about your baby...especially having to deal with it at such an old age. I personally have never heard of it being a common problem, but I did have a one eyed dog....but she lost her eye after being hit by a car...so a totally different situation. Could you tell me what happened? The reason is that on Tuesday our ChiPup injured his eye, his eye actually was out of the socket. The vet told us that it is common in dogs with bulging eyes, that a bump, a shake of the head anything could dislodge the eye. It was so tragic for our Toby, he is 13 years old. His eye was placed back and is home. We're praying that he will have his eyesight.
