Wouldn't that be like the same reason they don't allow brother and sister
marriages or father and daughter marriages? Too close in the gene pool? That is
how I think of it. I guess in some states they allow cousins to get married. (I
could be wrong on that lol)
I have seen some pretty dumb purebred dogs and wondered if that was what that
was the result of LOL

I do not inbreed and personally would never consider it nor recommend it.
Therefore, I do not have a lot of knowledge in the area. I have heard something
about it being ok to breed the son back to the mom OR the daughter back to the
dad....but I can't even remember which way they said it was suppose to go. One
way was considered "acceptable" and the other totally unacceptable.
Personally, I think it is a very bad idea all the way around and if possible,
you need to avoid it. There are many genetic complications that can arise.
