Or you can go by recommendations from this group. I don't know where you live but I know a wonderful breeder in Oregon. She breeds the best dogs IMO. She is where I got Bogie. I have known Valona for years and highly recommend her. There are some bad breeders registered with the AKC. I have always felt safer with word of mouth myself. There are so many people advertising all types of dogs on the web, they could be from puppy mills, stolen, sick or not at all what they are supposed to be. We had a situation in the Maritimes where dogs were being sold as Yorkies and one woman's Yorkie was 33 lbs and still growing. So for your own peace of mind go to the professionals.
