Oh yes the hole familie abused them.we know that Cockie now 7lb was nothing but skin and bones 5lb when i got her she was tied on a shain to the tree.We know that Shadow was beaten but they happy now.We ended up calling the Pound on them after talk to Vet.They still hat 4 chi puppys Cockies litter.a 4 lb Male and 3 mix Dogs.They now have 1 dog.all the others found new homes.Friend of mine works for the local shelter and keeps me updated .And yes i always belived Dogs can sense if Peopel are good ore not. Now my Henry (from a young age exposed to many folks) loves people. He's actually not too picky (though he adores women of any size, age and shape). A true Don Juan. There were to be about ten people in total and they were pouring in the front door. Most of them stopping to pet him or play with him and he was receiving all the attention happily. This one lady gets out of her car in the lot, which you could see through his huge storefront window and Henry starts growling before she was even in the door. It was funny as I never heard him growl before and had had him for 3 1/2 months at least. The woman came in and Henry became a little banshee, growling, showing his teeth and basically embarassing the crap out of me. I was on my way out anyway and apologized thinking nothing of it. Two months later I stopped back in for another job and was told the woman who Henry did not like costed that whole endeavor 10's of thousands of dollars as she was a conniving crook.
