Actually eyes should be self colored (same as the coat color) with dark being acceptable for white or really light as well as dark coats. But a tan chi for example, should have tan eyes, ect. As for the blue...that is a merle trait and whether or not merles are acceptable is up in the air right now, but if it swings positive for merles being accepted, then blue eyes will be acceptable in merles.
