Generally this is caused by a food allergy. The most common culprits are
wheat and corn. Check her dog food for any wheat or corn products
whatsoever, and try her on a food that doesn't contain either. You can also
try a soothing shampoo that's good for the skin -- back when Chiclet had
itchy skin (before I switched her to homemade food), I used Nova Pearls.
Another thing you can try is EFA (essential fatty acids) supplements, i.e.
fish oil. Either give her some fatty fish, salmon or tuna, on occasion, or
cut open a fish oil capsule over her food.
I'd highly recommend that you check out a very high quality food, like
Innova EVO, which doesn't contain any grains and is very high in protein.
