How would you know if it's the collapsed trachae vs the reverse
sneezing?
Some days, Maxx doesn't do it at all. Other days, it happens several
times.
Maxx wears a collar but it's very loose. So loose that it can slip out!

Thank you Marsha...I feel better now....I don't wear collars on my
Chihuahuas...because of the trachea issue...and like I said...my
parents have the brother to my Sox...and he does the same thing. I
don't keep collars on my cats either...I just rescued a beautiful
tabby...she's 7 years old,,,everyone thought she was too
old...anyway...the poor baby originally was adopted from a cat
rescue center...when they got her in...she had a collar embedded in
her neck! I put "necklaces" on my dogs at the holiday times...but I
make sure they're very loose fitting...and my dogs don't go outside
without me...and my cats don't go out unless they're in a carrier
or I'm holding them...thanks again!

yea...what you are describing is probably reversed sneezing. It can
be a whole bunch in a short time or it can be a few and far between
deal. Two things to keep an eye out for that can be similar are
collapsed trachea and kennel cough. The first is most often a
result of collars...which is why a chi should not wear a collar.
The second is very similar to a human cold....very annoying, very
contagious, but usually not very serious. BUT, the things described
here sounds more like simple reversed sneezing.

Hi...is this REVERSE SNEEZING thing...when they have an "attack" or
whatever you want to call it...is it kind of like they might be
having an asthma attack? My one Chihuahua and my parents Chihuahua
both do that...if not...does anyone know what this might be?
Thanks~~~Sharon

My dog Belle, 4 1/2 months occasionally makes the snorting /
sniffing noise. I'm not sure if something is in her throat or nose.
Does anyone elses dog do this??
