I got a 7 wk. old chihuahua puppy recently from a pet store. When
we brought her home she was doing ok for awhile with eating and
drinking but i noticed she would only eat from your hand or if you set
her dry (softened with water) food on the floor..I thought she would
eventually get over it and start eating from her dish, she never did
and things only got worse. We have now had her for about a week and a
half (8 wk.'s now) since buying her and she is now not eating on her
own at all she seemed to start going downhill from lack of food or
water and she was extremely weak (could'nt stand) so we took her to
Petco and asked a lady there for advice who breeds small dogs she
suggested we get milk and canned food mix it together and feed her that
with a syringe and also give her water through a bottle even after
doing that she will still get weak..we feed her through the syringe
about 4 times a day and also give her water through the bottle.. She
does'nt want to eat on her own...I'm not sure if she has an illness or
if she just does'nt want to eat..sometimes she will be fine and others
she will be tired and weak, this is my first time having a Chihuahua so
please advice would be very great.
