Sharon It sounds as though your friend's dog may have "walking dandruff" which is actually another microscopic 'mite'. There is a prescription cream that is really good called Acticin (permethrin) Cream. Other than that I would wonder about mange. Because sometimes it appears quite oily like cradle cap in infants. Not saying cradle cap is the mange now...lol. OH~~~I almost forgot...I have a question....this woman I talk to from time to time at the pet store has a Chihuahua puppy...this is her dogs' puppies.. there were 4 puppies born in the litter...they're over 3 months old now.. she sold the other 3 and decided to keep this one...well...he has developed something on his head and face..at first they thought it was white fur coming in underneath the black...but it's not...it's almost like dandruff.. but she said it seems to be oily...and I don't think a lot of it comes off. The other puppies are fine...she keeps in touch with the people that bought them...both parents have good coats too...any ideas or suggestions?
