Well, it has been a long night. I haven't been to bed yet, but I am now heading that way. Lucky had a hard time getting started. I could have dealt with it if my own mom wasn't a hysterical mess the whole time! lol. I finally had Cindy to call her in the middle of the night. After Cindy told her the same stuff I had already told her, she calmed down, lol.
Anyhow, after a LONG start, Lucky had her first pup, a little boy, at 2:50 am. Weighed 4 point 1 oz. Originally thought it was a black with tan markings, but as he dried, he appears to be a blue sabled with a tan head. Time will tell colors better. Second pup was a girl. Another weird one! She wasn't born Head first....wasn't born breeched either!! This is the first pup I have ever seen born in the fetal position. Back came out first and she was bent. I truly thought she was a goner, because of the way she was not straightened out! But she popped out so easy and when we got the sac off, she was fine. She is a tan, and get this....no tail!!!! Of course that is an automatic disqualifier for a show, but I am sure she will still be a great pet. Since this is Porky's first litter, and I know Lucky's background well, I can only assume this is a gene passed on somewhere by Porky. Anyhow, female, born 3:35 am, tan color, 4 point 3 oz Third pup was another male , born at 4:35 am weighing 3 point 3 oz. He looks like a black with blue markings...the black may end up blue, since the line carries a strong blue gene. Final pup was also a boy. Born 5:15 am. 3 point 4 oz. and a blue sow. The only sow. I actually expected the entire little to be sow so I was surprised this was the only one! The last two are pretty small. The first two, pretty big. Well, that is my update...now I am pooped! I have the kids off to school so I am going to BED....see you all some time after I get back from Dream Land. BIG thanks to Cindy for helping maintain sanity!!!! Marsha Do not tell God how big your storm is. Tell the storm how big your God is.
