I love the more natural remedies. I too have a separation anxiety chi Tinker Bell, who has climbed trees and jumped four foot walls trying to get to me when I left her. I got her from a rescue at about 10 mos. she had been taken to the pound as being troublesome and destructive. She was in the pound about 2 days, the rescue took her and took her to the vet and had her spayed right away, (more trauma on trauma) was a scared little 4 lb mite when I came to get her the next day. Spent months socializing and potty training and fixing screens she broke through to get out and rugs she tore up to get out of the bedroom etc.., as long as I was with her she was calm, soon as I left she was crazy. This week, we had plumbing problems and a leak and big fan dryers and workmen coming in and out. Tinker Bell got a little weirded out and suddenly was squeezing her eye shut and afraid of my hand with a treat, and shaking..... . I gave her a couple drops of Flower Essence Rescue Remedy and she calmed right down. We went for a walk and after she had her eye open wide and came up and did tricks for her treat as we usually do. Right now she is calm on a pillow beside me at the desk and not trying to crawl up in my arms. She changed that quick from one dose. It is all natural..... you can read about it on the site. Here is some information on natural Flower Essence Remedies, such as Rescue Remedy, which are helpful for trauma and emotional issues in people and animals. You can Google Flower Essences, here is a nice link that explains it them: http://www.petsyner gy.com/flower. html Here is another link to flower essense, and an explanation of using Rescue Remedy with animals: http://www.bachflow eressences. co..uk/dynamic/ us/index. php?section= home Rescue™ Remedy is a combination of five of the 38 Bach Original Flower Remedies and many people use it in times of stress or emotional upheaval. However, it can be of great benefit to animals too; whether they are traumatised, ill, about to visit the vet or even if they just seem generally under the weather. The unique formula contains Star of Bethlehem for shock, Rock Rose for terror and panic, Cherry Plum for lack of self-control, Impatiens for agitation, and Clematis to counteract faintness and bemusement. Rescue Remedy has been used by thousands of pet owners for years using the traditional dropper bottle. It is now also available as the handy and easy-to-use Rescue™ Spray. It makes the dosage even easier anytime, anywhere – just apply two sprays onto the animal’s skin. Do not spray in the eyes. Please consult a vet before use, particularly for exotic or small species. I am environmentally sensitive and use another flower essence on a regular basis from this site: (It's called YES "Yarrow Environmental Solution" and has an interesting story behind it, developed to help people in Japan from affects of the bomb) http://www.fesflowe rs.com/index_ essences. htm Love and healing to you both, Phylis claudia werner wrote: I just have to deal with it one day at the time.Don't want to put her on medication God bless you.Claudia ----- Original Message ---- From: arlene weaver <arleneweaver2004@ yahoo.com> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ups.com Sent: Wednesday, January 16, 2008 9:11:28 PM Subject: Re: [Chihuahuas] Update on Cockie she is really afraid. poor little girl she may need medicines if you have to go away again.
