We've always had big dogs...German Shepherds...and a few boxers....for the last
20 + years....but since I got Sox as a gift a couple of years ago...I can't see
me ever being without a Chihuahua...no matter if it's short legged like
Sox...or long legged like Cricket...lol lol...But I am partial to Sox...he's my
sweetheart!~~~Sharon

Unlike teacups, deer faced or deer types, are REAL. But it isn't an
"official" description. Basically, the deer types simply do not meet AKC
standards. That does NOT make them any less chi or any less precious! Deer
types will have the longer nose, the "sloped" head, the skinnier bodies, longer
legs, ect.......That is NOT a money making thing like the term "teacup" is
because people use t-cup to make someone think they have something unique and
thus worth more. But deer type is used as a nice way of saying the chi does not
meet AKC standards....so it is actually a derogatory term.

WOW, that picture does look like extremely long legs. To me, it looks like
it was the way that the picture was taken. My Chi does have long legs. I have
been told that she is a deer chihuahua. Has anyone heard of that?? I will send
you a picture in a day or so. I have been trying but cannot get it to go onto
the web as I stated previously.
These pictures are cute.

Hi,
I like to look at the pictures of puppies that are avaliable in the
local newspaper. I would never purchase out the paper. Anyway I was
looking at these dogs and to me the male who is the father of these
pups looks extremely long legged is this normal?
