Cesar used to lick a lot, until I started telling him "no lick".? Although he
still licks, he does it a lot less and will stop when I tell him "no lick".

Gloria,
Precious little Sugar Plum was first a foster with me.? When she came to me,
she came with chronic diarrhea, a horrible skin condition that made her scratch
herself until she BLED, and occasional convulsions!
She was adopted? out by the rescue folks four times, and returned each time,
because they said she wasn't housebroken.? After the fourth return, I said NO
MORE! and told the rescue group that I would be her forever home.
There was nothing wrong with her house manners - she simply had never seen
grass for her first 5 years!? All it took was a piddle pad and she was
perfect!? She has since learned to use the doggie door and even poops on the
grass now!
I finally learned that food allergies can cause diarrhea and the horrible
itching.? After searching for the right food for a long time, I finally found
it and now everyone in my house is on it.? (That's why I now sell it!)
She still has the occasional convulsion but they are so few and far between
that the vet agreed not to push more chemicals into her little body because she
reacts so terribly to them.
She also has a bad knee that causes her pain when the weather changes but we
can usually handle that with a puppy aspirin.
All my babies get along together famously, even though they were mostly all
adults when they moved in, and all at separate times.? We also have 2 rescued
cats.?
It isn't any harder to love 7 chihuahuas than it was to spread the love around
when number 2 came along.? Seems God gives you an unending supply of love.? You
don't have to share the love, it just seems to multiply.? Thank goodness they
are little dogs - it would be hard to hold 5 great danes in my lap at once!
Since Norm doesn't want to be touched, and Penny is old and sore with
arthritis, I never have more than 5 that want to be in my lap at once.? I've
got a great leather chair-and-a-half with an ottoman, and when I put my feet
up, I can actually get 5 dogs up with me at once.
And they all play so wonderfully together, I can't imagine a smaller family
anymore.? They are truly friends and playmates for one another.
I guess they're like jello - there's always room!!!

What is with the licking all the time? I want to pet her but she licks and I
hate

that so cuddling is hard but I do give her lots of attention? Is there anyway
you

can stop the licking or is it just one of their traits? Thanks
