Hi! I have a larger chi myself and was always worried on how much to feed him! He is full grown now and a little over a year and weighs about 8.5 lbs. I Can't rememebr his weight at 6 mos but it sounds like he was like your dog. My dog now eats a 1/2 c of dry food a day and I split it up to 2 meals a day. His mom was fairly large and his dad was small so somwhow he was in the middle. If you are concerned too you can always ask your vet on what they reccommend for feeding. Hope this helps!!
