Teresa, welcome to you and Smokey Joe. I am Gloria and I have a 11 month old long haired named Cesar. In fact, when he was a baby he looked a lot like the photo of your baby. Yes, they can be a hand full but also bring so much joy. Cesar chewed everything he could get to, so, I had to be very careful. The only thing of value that he chewed up was an out of print Frank Dobie book, that I foolishly left on the couch. He also liked and continues to like to nibble on my hands/fingers. The issues do improve, as they grow older. But it takes time and patience. Gloria
