my daughter has boxers she had the older female for about 4 years when she decided to bring a pup into the picture. I took a little while for the older one to become attached to the pup but she did. there was toy stealing and nips and growling and bossing around.but then the older one started to protect the pup. she was just stating who was boss dog. hope this helps. arlene
