How did you know that Henry needed supplements?
My new pup has been with me a week today. He had really bad diarrhea
last Thursday. He's better now, his stool is still soft but the vet
said it was gas. He's a very gas-y pup, that's why. Right now,
since the vet visit, he is on a prescription canned dogfood mixed a
bit with his dry kibbles. I'm hoping that after the canned food, his
food intake stabilizes and his stool becomes a bit harder. Maxx eats
the same food and I've never had problems with his stool.
So I'm worried that the food I give him does not suit him or he is
still adjusting. So I'm waiting a few more days to see since he
could also be adjusting. He is just 3months.

I had big problems with Henry's blood work being off and searched
and searched for nutritional supplements, even had them custom made
to is blood work- ho help!
But then I found Natures Logic which seemed not only to be
palatable but also since he's been on it, his blood is normal and
he has his vitality back. I cannot say if the blood being normal is
coincidence or result but I use it and feed a homemade diet as
well. Evidently its from food natural sources and not synthetic
which are harder to digest.
Natures Logic all food fortifier
Natures Logic North Atlantic Salmon oil
good luck and good for you feeding human grade food! If I can find
it I will send you an article from Whole Dog Journal on this topic
which was helpful to me.

Subject: [Chihuahuas] Help with vitamin suggestions
Since Isabella has to be on a homemade food diet because of food
allergies, her coat just doesn’t seem as soft as it should be and
she has a very small area of hair loss on her chest. Her diet
consists of sweet potatoes, oatmeal, broccoli, chicken,
blueberries, and eggs. I add a healthy powder to her food from Dr.
Pitcairn’s book which has brewer’s yeast, lecithin granules, kelp
powder, organic bone meal, and vitamin C. I also add salmon oil
that has omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acid daily. I don’t know if
this is a complete diet or not. If she is missing nutrients I need
help in finding a good vitamin that she would take and would help
her coat. This group is great in helping others and I really
appreciate all the knowledge I find here.
Thanks,
Emi
