in most places 1/2 to 3/4 are killed
we pull 1-2 Poms and Chis a week and can't take them all

Subject: Re: [Chihuahuas] Looking to stud our awesome little chihuahua :)
not to be a total lame-o - but please be careful where the thousands of
babies and babies' babies go! I do chi rescue and even the most amazingly
sweet, tiny little chis end up in shelters! puppies, pregnant moms, 2lb chis,
ones with papers. I love chis sooo much and was shocked when I started
volunteering with this group the volume of dogs that come through! We saved
close to 300 last year in just 8 states. It'll be a mad house when we get to
TX and CA - we get pleas for help from there all the time!! :(
many rescuers are against breeding because it's kinda on opposite spectrums.
I'm fine with ethical, responsible, controlled breeding - after all there
wouldn't be chis if not! :) It just makes me nervous - sometimes we have to
turn dogs away because our foster homes are full. I got all of my chis as
adults and it makes me sick when I have to tell somebody no I can't take them
thinking "what if that is Zeke or Dinky or Gertie...'s offspring??"
on the lighter side - I know what you mean about soft!!! I have one of my
own and sometimes get fosters that have fur like velvet!!! You just want to
rub them all over your face for hours!! :)

new to the group. Ever since I was turned onto
chihuahuas a few years ago, I have been in love! We have the smallest
chihuahua I have ever seen in person (he is maybe a couple pounds, not
to mention he is the SOFTEST dog I have ever felt! His name is Mr.
Bojangles (Bo for short) and he is the most friendly chihuahua I have
EVER met! We are constantly being stopped when out in public and even
several times offered $$ for our dog! (I wouldn't sell him for all the
money in the world!)
Well, Bo just fathered his first set of puppies with the female that my
boyfriend's parents have (they were so adorable...we sold one to a
friend, one to my mom and one his parents kept-they are all really good
dogs) I can't wait til he is able to father more puppies...I feel he
has all amazing traits/characterist ics that it would be a shame not to
make thousands of him! (can you tell I'm a proud mommy?!)
If anyone is interseted or has any ?? please feel free to e-mail us at
walterandperry429@ hotmail.com or walterandperry429@ yahoo.com
Thanks so much! Have a wonderful day :) PeAcE
