My McGee (Chinese Crested) is 11 and about 6 months ago started peeing in the house, in the bedroom in 2 spots and in the living room in 2 spots. Of course the 2 Chi's started following suit. Now, with our 8 month old Chi X Gizmo we got a week ago from the shelter, we didn't want her doing it too. So we bought some of the pee pee pads. Then, yesterday AM, I crawled around on my hands and knees with a vinegar water solution and scrubbed "the spots" Next week when I am on vacation, I will use the carpet scrubber AGAIN.
So far, since we put the pads down, nobody as peed off them. I am not sure who is using them (NOT Gizmo...she doesn't have free run of the house yet). They still pooh on the carpet. These dogs are taken out every HOUR when we are home, Gizmo more often. We hated to use the pads but it is better than them peeing on the carpet. They have not been crated for many years, since we first got them and I can't do that to them after having had them for so long. I got some of the pads at the 99 cent store...they don't seem to use them. The ones, Stay at Home I think they are called they seem to use more. Got them at PetsMart.
