After almost losing my dear Ashlee too it. I make sure that my dogs get it.
They always get the injections. I don't have family to watch them and if my
dear friend, Diane, isnt available then they have to go to the kennel. She
always brings her mini doxies with her when she comes to take care of them
so another reason for them to have it. I wont take the chance.

kennel cough can be caused by over 20 different organisms, the vaccines are
updated regularly, most boarding facilities require it, it runs rampant in
shelters, in healthy dogs it is similar to a cold but in the very young, old
or otherwise compromised individuals can be serious, requiring medication
or even hospitalization for pneumonia. vaccines are either nasal, which can
cause a mild case which can be transmitted to other dogs, or injectable

If I remember right it's a virus that dogs get if they are boarded with
other dogs. My mom's dog harley had it really bad when we brought him home
from the pound. My vet told me I didn't need it if I wasn't going to board
my guys. But if I board them then to get it. Hope this helps.
