Welcome Joy B, Scooter, Pop and Libby...

I feed my kids EVO low cal dry. They get a sprinkle of boiled chicken and
mashed
pumpkin 2-3 times a week. I don't free feed coz the big dogs love to
graze around the kitchen where their food bowls are.
So they all eat 2 times a day. Get treats mid day - Solid Gold Turkey/Lamb.
Our 5 month old baby of course eats 3 times a day - Innova puppy with either
Wysong wet liver
or EVO Chicken.

I would rather NOT feed commercial - but I don't have too much time to for cook
for 8 - 4 leggeds, let alone
the humans.
In a perfect world, I would love to cook this stew I used to make
but it's time consuming. I use to get the fresh livers from chicken, duck and
turkey
at Chinatown. The lamb meat was inexpensive too...
But NOW...everything is up, up, up in price!! CA being the worst.

But Thank God, the everyone is fed on a regular basis!
I wish I can say that for the rest of the world!

+0000Subject: [Chihuahuas] Hi! Newbie here!

Hi, everyone! I'm a newbie to this group and would like to introduce myself and
my 3 small companions. I have a 15 year old 10 pound chi/min-pin mix girl
(Scooter), a 3 year old 5 1/2 pound poodle boy (Pop), and a 6 month old 2 pound
chi girl (Libby). I just got Libby about a month ago and she is everything that
I was looking for. She makes us smile every day! I have created a photo album
titled "Libby and Friends" if you would like to take a look. I joined this
group mainly because I was searching out info on feeding. I have read a lot of
pros and cons on them all. After researching for many days and nights, I have
decided that I do not want to feed commercial food and would like to go with
home cooked meals. The problem that I keep facing is that I can't seem to find
any info that gives you a basic idea of an amount to feed, for example 10% of
dogs body weight. Also, I am finding conflicting percentages of meat vs. carbs
and veggies. There are so many different oppinions, all with apparently
satifactory outcomes. I think it is up to the individual to do what they feel
works best for their particular situation. I have been feeding Innova wet in
the morning, raw burger with dyno-vite in the afternoon and then leaving a
small amount of dry kibble available until around 8pm. Libby is the only one
that seems to need the extra kibble, as would be expected. This seems to be
working well for all, but I still want to get away from the kibble and go with
"real food". Thanks for having me. I look forward to learning and sharing.Joy
