Hey Christy, We have been having problems with ticks in our area. So I treat the dogs with Advantix/Advantage...I do split the dose since we have big dogs too...I have pulled 3 off of Whisper our pure white puppy. They haven't attached themselves, so I do believe the treatment is effective. Makes me crazy!! Besides examining all of the dogs for the pesky bugs, I have to wash dog and human bedding 1-2 times per week. Mop & vacuum every other day...NOT OCD...lol Just keeping everyone bug free!! I have 6 chis and a greyhound and I was thinking of buying the frontline for the 40-60lb dog and splitting it 6 ways for my chis...I have calculated the dosage necessary, but I was wondering if anyone else does this. We have been having a terrible time with fleas this summer even with spraying the yard and frontline on the dogs and spraying the dogs with a natural flea repelent. I have diatomaceous earth as well. So if anyone has split their frontline with any success please let me know and let me know if you calculated the dosage and how.
