My suggestion for anyone who's chi is facing surgery, of any kind, is don't leave the vet's office without some pain pills. When Cesar was neutered, I asked for and got pain pills, I gave him one right before he went to sleep and didn't have to give him another but I was comforted by the fact that I had some if he needed them.
