OMG!  My female Aussie is in heat right now and my male Aussie (neutered) is constantly trying to "get with her".  They are both driving me crazy!  I know he can't get her pregnant but I don't want them to tie because it looks so painful.  I have to keep them separated until her heat is over.  Luckily, Gizmo ( male Chi pup) is only 5 months old and he has no clue yet.  I am keeping him away from her, too, just in case.  Gizmo will be neutered next month and Zoe (my Aussie) is definitely going to be spayed ASAP! I haven't gotten her spayed yet because she has had health problems since she was 8 months old.  The stress from surgery might increase her problems.
 
I don't know how breeders deal with the females in heat, LOL!  I commend you for putting up with it!

Sissygot fixed when she was 2 and still got her Teddybear that she just loves"haha'.Brutus was fixed when a year old still will go to female in heat.

I don't think so, my youngest was spayed early and she will try it on occasionally..

I'm glad that you stated that. Our Jaelyn was bred quite a bit before being given to the rescue I foster for. This past week or so she's been trying to, for lack of a better word, hump my husbands arm. *blushes* Even those she's spayed now, I thought I'd read that if it's done too late on males it won't always fix the problem. So I wondered if that was the same for girls.

yes, a neutered male can tie...just as a guy with a vasectomy can still
fool around :-) Neutering only takes away the ability to reproduce, not
the ability to TRY! :-)
