I am so glad that she is doing better. That is pretty much what my vet did
with Tia when she got sick like that earlier this year.. I keep an oral
syringe on hand now in case I need to force fluids.. Ask your pharmacist for
one.. They are cheaper from him.. They buy in bulk for the kids so you
should be able to get one for less than a dollar or free. The ones out on
the shelves are like 3.00 or more.. I believe we should all have one on hand
Dehydration can happen fast in our babies and we need to be prepared.

Thank you for your thoughtfulness ! I searched this whole town,
drugstore, pet store, grocery; I could not find any.
I gave her pedialite and the Vet gave her a shot
because she has a virus. She is much better today
but I am watching her close. ( of course, I always
do anyway) She is my little one that my
world is centered around. Diana

Thank you so much!! I thought that honey was supposed
to be one of the best natural healing thing around.
At the moment I cannot find nurta cal anywhere. No one
here has it.

Diana, some on this list advise against the use of honey but the breeder
that I got Cesar from recommended a blob of honey (Burlesons) in his
drinking water daily (she's been breeding for 30 years). When I checked
with my vet he said it wouldn't hurt so I did it for almost a year. Then as
he got older and bigger, I reduced the number of times a week I put honey in
his water but I still do it at least once a week. Ask your vet.

CLaudia and Gloria,
I gave her a little dab of honey (that's all I had) on my finger.
She is up walking around (just a little bit) I have been holding
her. I am looking for some nutr-cal in our town (small town)
God Bless you both for being there for us. Diana

I did not know this!!!!! I can relate to what you are saying because
I am diabetic. What are we supposed to do on a daily basis then
to keep their blood sugar from going down???
You are right about a visit to the Vet, like, why did she throw up??
Gloria, thank you so much!!!

Chihuahuas are prone to a drop in sugar and the Nutra Cal (comes in a tube,
you can just squeeze a bit into her mouth) usually will give them a quick
fix. Even if she appears to be doing better, a trip to the vet seems in
order. Good luck, hope your baby will soon be feeling better.

Give her Nury-Cal if you don't have it do you have clear Karo Syrup? Give
some sweed in to her.As soon as posibel.Please. Try a little penutbutter. If
she don't want anything put it on her nose she will get it of they don't
like anything on there nose. But Nutr-Cal is the best.

Claudia,
You are so wonderful!!! I just want to reach thru the computer and give you
a huge hug.
That is the name that I was trying to think of was nutra-cal.
She quit throwing up, I don't think she has anything more to throw up.
When I put her down she just stays there, like a rag doll.
I am keeping a close watch on her and will let you know.
YOU GET WELL AND REST MY DEAR.
Prayers for you, and Love, Diana

I TAKE EVERYTHING THAT YOU SAY SERIOUSLY AND OBSORB IT.

I remember you saying that you gave your babies a boost drink when
they are sick. It is kind of like pediolite for dogs I think. I cannot
remember the name of it. Also, where do you purchase it??

Kiko was really sick yesterday, lethargic, dilated eyes,
threw up, really hot etc. She is not much better this morning.

Every word that you guys wrote went running thru my mind
Like did she have low blood sugar like Claudia has experience
with, etc. etc. I checked her over for bug bites and there were
none. What is missing when a dog eats grass??

Thanks for your help you guys. Lotza love, Diana
