My friends Sheltie needed at least 9 teeth pulled. Dentist that they have gone to is an actual canine/kitty Dentist, that's all he does. Doc says, little dogs have the most problems... He is excellent but expensive. This economy has us struggling - so we are going to have to work fugitive recovery to just get their teeth done! (can you believe that!!) Jazz the 4 lb has a very small mouth, so I have to work with q-tips to clean her teeth, plus a baby tooth brush. But I know she is going to need more work done. I use a small amount of baking soda, make it into a paste, but NOT too much> The big thing is, I don't like them under anesthia just for dental every year, plus it's costly. I have 4 pooches that need their teeth done, which will cost a couple of thousand dollars. Doc will get back to me because I have asked for Senior discount, AARP, etc... I'll keep you posted when we decide to get this done! My pom pom went in to have one tooth pulled and ended up with eight pulled. and had his teeth cleaned. Teddy is my dog that doesn't show pain. i trust my vet that he only pulled teeth he had to pull. he is a real animal lover and he likes my dogs. He has never seen jimmy's teeth.
