Thanks Jesslan - I can't believe you folks have waiting lists for Chi babies.
Diane the director said, she allows out-of-state adoptions! There is a lady
coming from Oregon
this weekend to p/u her new love. - She also mention there was a rescue that
went to Minnesota. Diane will be dropping off two babies, one purebred Chi and
one Yorkshire/Poodle mixed little gal.

I guess it's my way of giving back. Plus I see Gabby is taking the initiative
to care for all of the pooches and her two birds. Oh forgot! 2 of the Chi's
Missie and Turbo belong to my 22 year old daughter Emmy, who works PT and
attends school Mon to Fri - Takes them home with her Friday night, over the
weekend to Monday morning - she is not suppose to have dogs at her apartment.
I told her she needs to move! LOL...

Oh well...I work from home and like being a house mom. I am sure it'll work
out fine. Thank you for your input & advise *smile*!!

I know that it can be a hard task to handle sometimes when you're fostering,
but you're doing something wonderful for little beings who need you. I'm in NY
and there's what you'd call a shortage of chi's in our area. There are waiting
lists for chihuahuas at almost every shelter. Even the rescue I foster for
doesn't get too many chihuahua's.

As for providing the food... the Humane Society down the road that I fostered
kitties for gave us Hills Science Diet and that's all we were allowed to feed
them. (To prevent tummy upsets when going from shelter to foster home and back
to shelter.) They also gave vet services to each animal, plus spay/neuter and
shots, etc. The rescue I now foster for doesn't provide food, but provides
everything else like heartworm, flea meds, and any vet visits needed. However,
the dogs we've fostered for have all come with the higher price foods like
Merrick's or Wellness, etc. Luckily for us our only dog is Jaelyn, plus now a
foster when we have one.

Dog & Cat food is expensive. :( And dog food is much more expensive than cat
food. For us almost twice as much for just one dog and we have four cats to
feed! LOL Probably it all depends on how the rescues donations are handled and
what the donations are most needed for within the rescue.

However... wow... the thought of being responsible and loving 8 of your own
dogs plus taking on 2 fosters... I see why you're stressed. *hug* Just my
humble advice... do what is best for you and your family right now. There are
times in our lives when fostering is not possible if you've got too many other
things going on.

You'll make the right decision for you. ;)

She is cute!! Pray for me please. The Rescue who I used to foster for has
pleaded meto take 2 Chi's. There has been an urgency in Northern and Central
California. There are so, so many Chikids out there with no homes - she has 15
to 23 at this time. I am so sadden by this. We have 5 of our own and 3 big
pooches. This time I have made it clear she would have to bring their food -
she told me she doesn't normally provide the food. I asked her why do other
Rescues pay the fosters for food?? She said, right now it's out of control!!
(which didn't answer my question).MORE stuff on my plate! WWJD??Gloria C The

Here's another pic that Powder's first mom sent me. It's of her playing with
her little Chi friends. She's the white one.
