it is very possible he is loosing his hearing. It is also posible that he
is just to tired in his old age to get up and walk away from the child. I
have noticed a lot of the older ones who use to leave when certain people
or other dogs start comming around, begin to take the oppinion that they
are no longer worth the trouble to move for. Joe was like that...he use to
move when people were walking because he was always scared of being
stepped on. As he got old, he started just lying right in the way and look
up at people with this "just step over me" expression, lol
