The reason I was off line

Hi everyone...I sure did miss you all! I was off line for over a month...so I
wanted to take a few minutes and let everyone know what's been going on. I just
got back on line last week. A lot of you knew about my daughter almost dying in
March...she was on life support and in ICU because of her diabetes...she's
doing...then in May...my father in law passed away...June and July were
ok....Then in August (16th) my dad had a very bad stroke...we stayed at the
hospital (University Hospital) in Cleveland while he was there...the spot in
his brain where it bled...was a little bigger than the bottom of a pop can! He
also had some bleeding outside of that area...and there is a "canal" going
through your brain that was also filled with blood. We took him to the local
hospital and they couldn't do anything...they said he probably wouldn't make
it. We started the prayer chain right away...and he was flown to
Cleveland...Thank God for his healing and the doctors at University Hospitals!
Then he was transferred to a local nursing home....it was so sad...my dad has
always been a very strong person...clear up to the day that he had his
stroke....and to see him in the nursing home crying to come home was very
hard...it broke my heart. So for a while I was at the hospital or nursing home
all day...and part of the night. My mom and I and sometimes my one
sister...would go to his therapy with him. He did very well. He was finally
released from all of his doctors except his family doctor...at the end of last
month. Believe it or not...he is almost back to normal. He walks...sometimes he
uses his cane...just in case...he talks fine...he takes care of himself....we
had so many doctors and nurses tell us that he is a miracle...they said with
his condition...they never thought he would make it...he was only home from the
hospital about 5 days...and his sugar crashed...(he's a bad diabetic) I thought
he was going to die...I've never been around anyone when that happened...we
called an ambulance and they knew what to do. I tested his sugar before they
got here and it was 22....when they tested it...it was only 20...they gave him
and IV and had us get him something to eat after he came out of it...it was
terrible!...My computer crashed right around the time my dad has his
stroke...so I didn't even have a computer for a month. Then Early last
month...the first week of September...my husband lost his job...what a shock!
Oh yeah...life has been a living hell for the last two years for my entire
family...THEN...our 8 year old grand-daughter got hit by a piece of a falling
tree...she was taken to a different hospital in Cleveland...she was put on life
support...she has a severe skull fracture...her ankle is broken in two
places...and she has a nasty cut on her leg...and lots of scratches and
bruises. She is now at home recovering...but in a wheel chair...she can't put
any weight on her ankle...she has a cast on it too. The skull fracture is
healing ok...but still pretty big. The cut on her leg is very nasty...they keep
cutting "dead skin" off of it. She will be in the wheel chair for at least 2
more weeks....then they're hoping her ankle is healed enough to put a walking
cast on it. Poor kid. She's doing good and improving every day...so...if there
is ANY good out of any of this...it's that we didn't lose anyone!
Oh...yeah...forgot...my brother in law tried to commit suicide on Mothers
Day...then he had a heart attack...in June...so earlier when I said June was
ok...it wasn't...ahhhh....I'm hoping and praying that the worst is behind us
for a while...my whole family is stressed. My husband did get another
job...about 2 weeks ago....he works for the city ....it doesn't pay much right
now...and we lost our insurance...which really worries me...I have liver
problems and diabetes...I'm supposed to go to the doctor this month for my 3
month check up....If we can just hold on till spring...we'll be ok...my
husbands boss (and the big supervisor) are very impressed with my husbands work
and the fact that he can run all the equipment...that they said they are going
to hire him full time..but can't do it till spring...after that if everything
goes ok he'll make good money and have very good benefits...So...in
closing...thank you all for your friendship and prayers over the months...and
please continue to remember me and my family in your prayers...Thanks
everyone~~~Sharon.....I'm so glad to be back!
