Greetings John To look out over the Salton Sea...how marvelous that must be. Your house sounds so much like mine...I have two cats...placed one. Is that a Quaker? We have a Quaker named Whisper about 7 months old now...oh the cats are Twinky and Prissy and we have two parakeets Tweety and Jethro. We have quite a few Dachshunds and Chihuahua's running round plus a couple of rescue Beagles and a rescue lab. When you look out our front door you see the lake. I think it would be neat if everyone described the view from their front door don't you? Haha my nickname is The Dog Lady...all the kids in the neighborhood call me that. I welcome it as an opportunity to teach them about being kind to animals.
I have a few Yahoo groups and I have Moderators on them and they do an excellent job...if per chance one of them put someone on Moderation and I disagreed I just remove the moderated status. But the thing is I trust my Mods...maybe it's a trust issue? Some folks are just unwilling personally to let others Moderate their group for they like to know they are in charge themselves? I do not mean to step on toes...just saying my opinion. The ancient Aztec had a small dog that was worshipped as a deity of the Sun God. This is very likely the xolo that others have referred to. Our Chihuahuas are more than likely offspring from the xolo that was revered by the Aztec. I live in a rural section of Imperial County in California ; I wake and look out over the Salton Sea every morning. The porch is fenced in and the so is the back courtyard. Ginger and the feral cat rescues have the run of the fenced in areas. Annubis and Blaze are the two older cats; Twisty, the breech birth and Cleopatra are Blazes kittens. Crystal came from Ohio with my then fiancé. Galileo was a birthday present to my wife from Angel, our oldest daughter. There are centipedes, millipedes, stinky beetles glass spiders and scorpions all of which have various defensive mechanisms that could cause, among other things, like drooling in cats a and dogs if mouthed. Many frogs and toads have secretions that taste bad to predators, again causing drooling. The predators learn to NOT attempt to eat the offensive creature. That is why there are two other butterflies that mimic the Monarch which most birds eat only once. Ive rambled. Included are pictures of my menagerie, which is why my wife lovingly calls me Beast Master. if we want to solve the spamming problem, then we could moderate the group. it would some serious effort by one or several people who have an intimate working knowledge of all of the regulars to the group. Theyd all have to post, something short, and be moderated into the group. After that there'd be no problem with regulars posting whenever they want. New members and spammers would have to be allowed into the group as new members. Spammers would be removed by a moderator. Owners can be moderators, but moderators need not be owners of a group. Blessed Be, John Kariotis
