Edgar was stolen from my home on 10/23/08

When I arrived home at 6:30PM on Thursday night, I noticed that Edgar wasn't
barking up a storm (like he usually does.) I opened the door and his kennel
(with him in it) was not there, as I had left him that morning.

I called my sister to see if she was playing some kind of joke on me; she
wasn't. I walked further into my house to find my laptop, PS2 and some other
minor electronic things missing.

My house had been burglarized and Edgar had been stolen. The theives not only
took him in his kennel, but they took the container of cat food (probably
thought it was his food) and his dog dish.

I called the police, they came and said that there had been a rash of
burglaries in the area lately, but had never heard of someone stealing a pet.
The crime lab came and took pictures and fingerprints and then they were gone.

My cat, Gunther, crawled up into my arms as soon as the dust cleared. He always
knows when you're upset and always tries to comfort yo u.

Yesterday, my sister made a flyer and faxed them to all of the animal hospitals
in my area. I made copies and started posting them at all of the pet stores,
grocery stores and coffee shops in my area. I also stopped in at the humane
society and animal control to give them the info as well.

I spoke to my neighbor, who said he didn't see anything, though he did wonder
why his 2 dogs went crazy with barking at about 12:30 - 1PM that day. He said
they wouldn't stop. He looked out the front and didn't see anything..
Unfortunately, I live to the side and they got in through my back door.

I've posted to different Meetup groups in the area, MySpace, Facebook and have
written to a couple of different telelvision station's "Tip lines".

The silence in my house is deafening. The hole in my heart keeps aching. I'm
sick beyond belief. Edgar is my baby. I miss him more than I could ever express.

If you are in the Twin Cities area, please pass this infor mation on.

Edgar is a 4 year old long-haired mini-dachshund of a reddish-brown color and
weighs around 11lbs.

He was not wearing a collar, nor is he microchipped.

He was taken in a mauve Vari-kennel with a Tazmanian Devil sticker on top that
says "Little Devil"

I am offering a reward of $1000 - no questions asked - for his safe return.

If anyone has any information on his location, please call me, Meaghan, at
612-298-9699 or the Brooklyn Center Police Dept - 763-569-3300.

Thank you and please help me find my Eggie.

Meaghan
