Michelle, that was sad, beautiful and happy all at the same time. It sounds
like you two were meant for each other. :)

Henry was not supposed to be a rescue but when I picked him up I saw why the
breeder was giving him away so cheap. Her family was in trouble and her dogs
were being neglected. He was in his own poop (a weeks worth) in a cage. (I
arrived a day earlier than planned).

I was so worried about him getting used to me and the plane ride we faced the
next day. When I scooped him in to my jacket where he rode with me for an hour
before we got to our hotel, his little body relaxed into my heart. That was it!

It was the night before thanksgiving and I considered my holiday erased as we
would be travelling all day on the holiday (best day to get a cheap seat). When
we got to the room after a poop and a bit to eat he would not leave my chest. I
called the airlines to discover I could leave @ 2pm in the morning and be home
to my moms by 7 am so we left early. He never left my chest after check in and
no one knew he was under my coat until we landed and he poked his head out
yawning (probably to clear his ears). Though I wanted to get him right home we
went to my moms first where there was a quiet dinner (this was the first civil
dinner for us in a long spell). He never forgot that house or her even though
we only see her once in a few months. From the very start he was my lucky charm
and the love of my life. He truly rescued me as many times after when I did not
want to get out of bed (for some reason or another) he was always there to
propel me on. Forcing me to walk the little woods in my own backyard I realized
many times over how he truly rescued me. My mom ended up getting a yorkie
because of how much his fellowship seemed to help our family. When we go to her
house its a grand reunion with cousin Max the Yorkie. Henry treats him like its
his pup..sorry to go on...

  best,
michelle, henry and vinnie (the wee one)
