  Subject: [Chihuahuas] Update on Salt

I wanted to update everyone on Salt. He had seemed to be doing a little
better yesterday and mom and I were optimistic that he may pull through.
This morning, mom noticed a very bad tooth in his mauth...so we thought,
maybe, just possibly...this could be the problem!! And since we will do
anything if there is any possibility of it helping, we took him to the vet
today to see if this tooth could be why he is not eating.

Vet did blood work. The results were not good. He is in Kidney failure.
Vet said there is nothing that can be done and he has maybe two or three
days left. While we already knew he was dying and had accepted the Lord's
will....the little bit of hope we had experienced for a short while,
crashed and felt even worse than before we had hope.

We are to continue to give him pain meds and ainti-biotics for comfort,
and just wait on the Lord. I will continue to keep you all updated and ask
for your continued prayers. For those who don't know....Salt is a result
of my very first ever chihuahua breeding nearly 11 years ago. I choose him
to keep out of the litter because he was the perfect combination of both
Pepper and Chiffon.....Pepper's spots and Chiffon's color. Unfortunately,
he also got the worst of each parent's genetics.....Chiffon's seizures,
  Pepper's bad teeth and bones.

We are going to go ahead and get everything ready so that when he does
pass, the grave will already be dug and we wont have to stress over
  that.....

  Marsha
