Just remember training to get their attention should happen everyday and can easily occur in the home with treats, their dinner, and little simple tricks. It should always be fun for both parties and if someone (you or furkid) is off their game then its quits until tomorrow or later. Consistencey really pays off. They are so eager to please and love to learn. Just make sure your wee one is always safe with the larger pups when you go to the arenas.
best, michelle, henry and vinnie (was wee one, now standing higher than my big boy..so much for puppy charts LOL) in the beautiful Catskill Mountains, NY -----Original Message----- From: luvntzus77 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [email protected] Sent: Thu, 20 Nov 2008 12:57 am Subject: [Chihuahuas] Re: Chi puppy energy & cold weather Tamara I wanted to add a link to the obedience club; it looks awesome! I'm going to try and go observe a class this Friday. http://www.rdoc.org/ --- In [email protected], [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > > Tamara > He's too young for agility but not for training. puppy school or obedience school would be an outlet for him. Often those type of training centers offer time you can go there and play with your dog inside. It seems like its not advertised but if you ask you may find they do that. At home we have games with nerf balls which are soft and they also do their run of sits, downs, up-up's, spins, stays (I go in the bathroom and hide while they stay still someplace) and that seems to stimulate them mentally. > I often feel bad lately because I am busy and they're not getting enough play time from me but its amazing how little goes a long way and is really a good break for me to. > > > best, > michelle, henry and vinnie (was wee one, now standing higher than my big boy..so much for puppy charts LOL) > in the beautiful Catskill Mountains, NY > > > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > To: [email protected] > Sent: Wed, 19 Nov 2008 9:32 pm > Subject: Re: [Chihuahuas] Re: Chi puppy energy & cold weather > > > > > > > > I think Chihuahuas are champions at doing "Zoom, Zooms" .? Cesar, 21 months old, does his "zooms" at least once a day.? He zooms around the room then jumps up onto the couch, hits the back of the couch and appears to "surf" off the back of the couch and onto the floor.? He looks like he is wave surfing.? But even at that, he is not the wild man he was as a young pup!? So, there's hope.? LOL > > ? > > Gloria P > > ? > > > In a message dated 11/19/2008 8:24:42 P.M.
