You are being a loving owner! I admire that you're doing everything you can to make sure they're going to a wonderful family that will keep them happy, well loved and healthy. The rescue I foster for does all that too and because of it we don't often get a small dog sent back to us. I wish they did more to check out families at our local Humane Society but all they do is have them sign some papers and pay a fee and then so many of the new 'parents' bring the pet back because 'something' didn't work out with the family. :(

I also asked for a vet reference, landlord permission unless they own their homes and a personal reference. Also they signed an agreement stating they would keep their shots up to date and if they decide to get rid of the pup later we have first options. Am I being too controlling.
