I have mentioned the angle card project to most of you. I wanted to send a cut and paste of the latest email recieved from the projects founder. This is such a great project!!! Please, if you can spare just one postage stamp and card to make a difference to a stranger this holiday season, PLEASE read this email and consider volunteering for the project. You can send only one card, or a dozen cards, totally up to you!! Marsha
I wanted to touch base with the groups to give you a small update on the 2008 Angel Card Project. I try to stay in touch with the groups 2 or 3 times during the project. We've been having some folks sign up to be volunteers to send cards out but our numbers are lower this year than in the past. I've been reading through some of the submissions we've gotten already and I've got to tell ya, some of them are just heart breaking. There are a lot of folks out there who are having a tough time and they really need to know that someone cares about them. It's been breaking my heart to read some of these. So we really need as many folks as possible to sign up to send a few cards out. You have no idea the difference just a card or two can make to someone and it would only take just a few minutes of your time. If you haven't signed up to send cards yet, please visit the site and consider signing up. I always think of situations like these and if I had to walk in the shoes of some of these folks, I would want to know I had a friend out there too. Here is the link to the site: http://www.countrychurchcrafts.com/2008angelcardproject I have also been kind of surprised that we haven't had quite as many submissions of folks to send cards to. We usually have a lot more by this time. So if there is someone out there that you would like to see the volunteers send cards to, and you have NOT yet sent that in, please visit the site and be sure to send that in. I am checking the submissions now and as soon as I get each one added to the datebase, I am emailing the sender back to let them know I got their email. If you've already sent your requests in, just hang tight as it takes me quite a while to get these set up. It will probably be next week before I can get back to everyone. So that's just an update on the project for everyone. I probably won't post again until next Friday to do the last call. So if you haven't signed up, please consider doing so. There are some folks on the list this year that I really believe need to know that someone cares that they are alive. And please remember that I am on digest on a lot of groups right now because of the project and am not able to read all of them, so if you have questions either email me through the project page or privately at [EMAIL PROTECTED] as I may not see it otherwise.
