ello...Apache is very picky at what he will eat, most treats he wont touch...wet food, canned food forget it....I feed him a dry all natural dog food and he loves it....we figured out he would eat that because my fiance's mom feeds her dog it and he was over there one day and he was eating her food....but he gets his share of chicken and ground beef, he is spoiled rotten and such a pampered little prince....I would suggest asking a vet what they think and go from there.....! You are not alone....Apache is my first chihuahua and he is 10 months old now...but I went through alot of food issues with him and survived it and you will too. Do not worry...this is the best group EVER~!!!!!

Is she drinking water? I would try the moist food for right now to see if she will eat. If she isn't drinking then i would take her to the vet hospital to be checked out. --- On Tue, 12/9/08, Christine Cooper <[EMAIL PROTECTED] com> wrote: From: Christine Cooper <[EMAIL PROTECTED] com> Subject: Re: [Chihuahuas] Re: HELP!! 9 mo. old chihuahua won't eat To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ups.com Date: Tuesday, December 9, 2008, 4:09 PM Yes, she has all her shots. She is 9 months old. I also give her Advantage Multi once a month which is topical solution, to prevent heartworm and to treat and control flea infestations, hookworms, roundworms and whipworms. --- On Tue, 12/9/08, Jenny Clay <jennyclay18@ yahoo.com> wrote: From: Jenny Clay <jennyclay18@ yahoo.com> Subject: Re: [Chihuahuas] Re: HELP!! 9 mo. old chihuahua won't eat To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ups.com Date: Tuesday, December 9, 2008, 3:03 PM Spike is my 2yr old male and he only likes puppy chow and the moist dog food that comes in single packets. If she liked the wet food she might like the single packet moist dog food. If comes in a box of i think 12. Does she have all her shots? How old is she? --- On Tue, 12/9/08, Venus <[EMAIL PROTECTED] net> wrote: From: Venus <[EMAIL PROTECTED] net> Subject: [Chihuahuas] Re: HELP!! 9 mo. old chihuahua won't eat To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ups.com Date: Tuesday, December 9, 2008, 3:54 PM My Chip is also very picky. The only food I can get him to eat is Wellness Small Breed... He doesnt even like treats unless they are cheese. LOL. We have really liked Wellness. The only other food I will get is the Nutro Ultra Holistic. I can tell a MAJOR differece in my little ones. They all seem happier, less shedding, brighter eyes, more playful, etc etc. Venus --- In [EMAIL PROTECTED] ups.com, ButtercupandWyatt <buttercupandwyatt@ ...> wrote: > > chhuahuas can be soooooo picky sometimes, wellness is a very good food, they seem to love the chicken flavor, solid gold is good also..;-) i would have her checked for parasites for sure, they can reck havoc on these little dogs ;-) and something so simple as a worming can make all the difference in the world ;-) > > --- On Tue, 12/9/08, Christine Cooper <ccooper916@ ...> wrote: > > From: Christine Cooper <ccooper916@ ...> > Subject: Re: [Chihuahuas] HELP!! 9 mo. old chihuahua won't eat > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ups.com > Date: Tuesday, December 9, 2008, 8:15 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > Thanks. I have tried the wet dog food, which she did okay on for a while.. When I noticed she wasn't eating, I stopped using the wet dog food in hopes that that was causing the problems. She does eat her "bacon strip" strips when she goes potty outside as a treat. I will try the chicken and calling the vet. > > I know sometimes people say that you may have to switch foods; however, I am new to having a pet that I am unsure as to what product is good for chihuahuas. > > --- On Tue, 12/9/08, ButtercupandWyatt <buttercupandwyatt@ yahoo.com> wrote: > > From: ButtercupandWyatt <buttercupandwyatt@ yahoo.com> > Subject: Re: [Chihuahuas] HELP!! 9 mo. old chihuahua won't eat > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ups.com > Date: Tuesday, December 9, 2008, 2:08 PM > > > > > > > > > > since she is eating poop, chances are she may have picked up a parasite or bacteria, i would bring her poop into your vet and have them run a giardia test, worms, and bacterias that could be the problem, have you tried another food? have you tried giving her nutrical? that kind of gives them a boost and makes them want to eat again. also maybe try giving her boiled chicken and see if she will eat that.. or hamburger ground up ( no seasoning). or can dog food.. see if any of these entice her, if they do, then it is probably she has grown sick of the kibble.. some dogs can be very finicky, i home cook for my dogs and have to rotate between chicken, and ground beef, they grow sick of them... they are also very spoiled! > poop eating is a bad thing, mine do it an dhvae passed around giardia, it is very hard to get rid of and very hard to break them of eating poop. > if none of these pan out, maybe you should consider having some bloodwork done also?? to maje sure nothing else is going on. > hope this helps, try the chicken, if she wont eat that then you know something else is going on.. > > --- On Tue, 12/9/08, ccooper916 <ccooper916@ yahoo. com> wrote: > > From: ccooper916 <ccooper916@ yahoo. com> > Subject: [Chihuahuas] HELP!! 9 mo. old chihuahua won't eat > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ups.com > Date: Tuesday, December 9, 2008, 7:57 PM > > > > > My 9 month chihuahua does not want to eat her food.
